Philippine Baranggay Folk Dance Troupe
80th Anniversary Celebration | Auditions for New Performers.
For 80 years, the world-renowned Philippine Baranggay Folk Dance Troupe has stood as a living expression of Filipino identity, artistry, and cultural pride. As the longest-running folk dance company of its kind, PB continues to honor tradition while shaping the future of Philippine cultural performance led by Creative Director, Ronnie del Barrio. As we mark this historic milestone, we invite a new generation of dancers to step forward.
This is more than joining a troupe.
This is becoming part of a legacy.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Aspiring performers with a deep passion for Philippine indigenous and traditional dance, music, culture, and heritage, and the commitment to grow, learn, and create with purpose.
Whether your background is in folk, contemporary, ballroom, hip-hop, jazz, or theater, you are welcome to audition if you bring discipline, curiosity, and love for the craft.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Applicants must:
Be 18 years old or above
Hold a valid National ID
Passport required for international touring
Have a background in dance or performance
Possess at least 2 years of performance experience
Be committed, communicative, open-minded, and passionate about the artistic process
MINIMUM HEIGHT REQUIREMENTS
Women: 160cm / 5’3”
Men: 170cm / 5’7”
WHAT AWAITS YOU AS A PB PERFORMER
✨ Regular training and artistic projects beginning Jan 25 onwards
✨ Collaborative learning from PB’s Creative Team, and through workshops and field studies with indigenous cultural bearers, dance masters and respected artists
✨ Nominal honorarium for outside performances
✨ Opportunities to perform in local festivals, events, experimental spaces, and international touring as a cultural ambassador of the Philippines

Ninuno: Yaman ng Katutubo
(Ancestors: Wealth of Indigenous Peoples)
Celebrating the rich heritage of Indigenous peoples by honoring their ancestors and the invaluable traditions they have passed down. The production vividly showcases their cultural wealth through dynamic dances, enchanting music, and powerful songs that reflect their ancestors' stories, rituals, and values. Each performance is a tribute to the wisdom and resilience of the “ninuno” (ancestors), inspiring audiences to connect with their roots and appreciate the beauty of Indigenous cultures.
Through the rhythm of the drums, the grace of traditional dances, and the heartfelt lyrics of their songs, the production invites everyone to experience the joy, strength, and unity found in these cultural expressions. It emphasizes that the true wealth of Indigenous peoples lies in their ability to share their heritage, fostering a sense of pride and encouraging others to celebrate and preserve their own cultural identities. This celebration of ancestry through art inspires a collective appreciation for the diverse tapestry of human experience, reminding us all of the importance of honoring our past while embracing the future.
FEATURING: The Villamor Banhaw Dance Troupe, with Special Guest, the Philippine Baranggay Folk Dance Troupe.
The Villamor Banhaw Dance Troupe is a lively school-based dance group that focuses on bringing back and sharing Philippine culture and arts through music, song, and dance. The word “banhaw” means "to bring back to life," representing their goal of reviving our cultural heritage. As new keepers of tradition, the Banhaw Dance Troupe highlights the beauty and variety of Filipino dance, working to keep our artistic traditions alive. Through their exciting performances, they share the stories, traditions, and spirit of the Philippines with new audiences.
Along with the Philippine Baranggay Folk Dance Troupe and its creative team, the Villamor Banhaw Dance Troupe aims to achieve cultural excellence and artistic creativity in promoting and teaching cultural dances and traditions through their performances. They hope to inspire and educate the next generation about the importance of keeping culture alive and how dance connects people everywhere.
